Legislature Experience

For over 15 years I have worked directly with legislators in promoting good legislation and fighting bad legislation. I’ve fought proposed legislation that would have reduced the rights of Arkansas taxpayers. And I’ve campaigned against unnecessary taxes.

In 2009, with the sponsorship from our local state senator, I led the effort  in getting major legislation passed that improved the accounting profession, and that helped give Arkansans access to greater professional expertise for their tax and business needs.

My work with the legislature has included monitoring the movement of legislation through the legislature, attending and testifying before committees, and just plain talking sense with our legislators.  I’m proud to say that I have left many footprints in the Capitol on behalf of Arkansas taxpayers, businesses and my fellow CPAs in the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.  For that, my colleagues were kind enough to recognize my work by honoring me with the 2009 Legislative Service Award.

As an elected legislator, I can be even more effective in representing the taxpayers of our great state. As a “non career” politician, I haven’t lost touch with the voters. I know what needs to be done, and with your help, I will make a difference. It’s TIME to put a fresh voice in the Arkansas House of Representatives. It’s TIME to put the voters back in charge.

By the way, although my opponent is a career politician, he has never served one day in the legislature.
